ANJA TANHANE (Instructor)

Anja went along to her first Tai Chi class in 1987 and has been practising and teaching a wide range of Tai Chi forms, weapons and Qigong ever since. She’s been a student of Master Su Rule for the past five years and joined WTQA as an instructor member in 2015.

Anja is also a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher and offers regular courses, workshops and weekend retreats incorporating Tai Chi and mindfulness for workplaces, carer groups, health organisations, disability groups and the general public. As a registered music therapist, Anja believes in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, and loves sharing Tai Chi, music and mindfulness with others. She regularly presents workshops and papers at national and international conferences, and lectures in music and health at the University of Melbourne. She writes a monthly blog at  and was a regular contributing writer at Slow Magazine.
